A Happy Newe Year To Ewe

I wish everyone a blessed New Year. May your dreams be realized. Even if they should need hard work and much determination. Step out and step up. Ahem. Note to self: You's not just fluffy...

Canned Sheep

Don't know the where or when for this tin. But it makes its appearance at Christmas time. Prince Albert, do you have sheep in a can?

Sweet Sheepy Shoes For Newly Made Toes

I have saved this picture for almost three weeks, now, awaiting a special event. These sweet, sweet booties will be worn by...ta da (the announcement bugle sounds) Morgan Campbell, my newest great-niece. Born today at 9:22 am and weighing in at 8.11 lbs with a full head of, what looks like, red hair like her beautiful Mom, Lisa. I bought the shoes at Mardel's Gifts and Books. A little lamb just new from Heaven. The Father's richest blessings and guidance upon her precious life, now and for the future.

Again With the Seasonal Sheep

The sheep with the striped stockings and gold toes is a candle and was given to me by Lisa, my neice. I just got the the gift-bearing sheep from Family Bookstores at a reduced price for buying three "Really Wooly" greeting cards. I think the stacked weathervane sheep came from Hobby Lobby last year. I wish ewe a sheepy Christmas.

More Sheep of the Season

These long-legged sheep were purchased at Decorator's Warehouse about 3 yrs ago. Long on cute, they are.

Happy Birthday, Jesus!

Bought in an after-Christmas sale at Eckerd's in 1995. Thank you for being my Good and Faithful Shepherd, Jesus. Yes, I know your voice.

A Christmas Flock

From many places came these sheep. Hobby Lobby, M.J.Designs, World Market and Decorator's Warehouse. All have hangers and are meant to be tree ornaments. But for the last few years, I have only had a small 3 ft artificial. These would have made the poor thing tilt like Charlie Brown's tree. So I hang them about on knobs or let them sit in all their fluffy glory. Eweltide greetings and Shepherds are keeping watch.

A Pupper's Best Friend

This poor lambie is a bit mauled. That's because it is a pupper's 'baby'. From PetsMart, of course. It had a squeaker at one time, but it now gives the silent treatment to its playmates. Well loved. 'Ruffed' up but well loved.

Both Sides Now

Reversable lap throw given to me by Lisa, my niece. It's a real warm and fuzzy.

Just a Little Nippy

PetsMart was the place I found this little lambie. It's a catnip holder with a Velcro closure. As by the pics, you can see I just refreshed it contents. And there was much sheepy kitty joy.

Counting Sheep

It's flannel time. I'll take flannel sheets over silk or infinity thread-count anytime. I got this set at Target almost by accident. I overheard a lady give someone directions that included, "just past the sheep". Did I really hear "sheep". I looked to where she had sent the other customer...Whoa Moma!- there they were. And on sale, to boot. What a sweet, sheep sleep I will count on tonight.

Maaaa and The Kids

This ma has a lot to keep track of. All the lambs were collected or given to me at different times and came together to form a mini-flock. One lambie always seems to be exploring on its own and may get lost. But The Good Shepherd always keeps watch. His sheep know His voice.

Not Bo Peep, Not Lost

This is a fave of mine. It was given to me by another fave, Lisa Lou, for Christmas 2000. Actually, it's just Lisa, but she does have beautiful red hair, too. A sheep is wooly a girl's bestfriend. You can't cuddle a diamond!

A Very Serious Post

I was at a very different and memorable place when this sheep was purchased. He reminded me of the ram caught in the thicket. A substitution sent by God, to Abraham, to become the blood sacrifice, instead of Isaac, Abraham's son.

It was October 8, 2000 and I had decided to celebrate my birthday in a way that would make me cherish life: grateful for the one Handcrafted just for me. I went to the Dallas Holocaust Museum and took the headset tour. I stood in a boxcar, the cattle car that was actually used to rail people to their deaths. Death sentences meted out, simply because of their belief. Six million Jews and another four million so-called 'human misfits', were slaughtered by evil men. And by good men who chose to do nothing to stop it. Remember. Always remember.

November 9, 2006 marks the 68th Anniversary of Kristallnacht (The Night of Broken Glass). Nazis, along with Hitler's Youth and the SS, destroyed Jewish owned businesses, synagogues and murdered 91 Jews. Some 25,000 men were rounded up and later sent to concentration camps. The brutality lasted into the next day and launched the war of hate on the Jews of Germany.

Hooray For The Red, White and Blewe

Vote for ewe. Vote for ewe. This sheepy plaque was purchased at a deeply discounted price from a Hobby Lobby trying to purge its Spring-Summer stock. This candidate is running on a grass-roots platform, and is both hot and cold on the sink issues.

God's Grace to Ewe

Happy sheep with happy feet envelope. It held a SASE and Easter card for me to sign and send on to my World Vision child, Nomalinge, in South Africa. She will be 12 yrs old on November 10. Happy Birthday, sweet girl. Grow strong in Jesus, for He cares for you...Always. He's got the whole world in His hands.

This is Shaun, Too

All the way from England. I fell in love with the Wallace and Gromit movies and this is Shaun, a character, from A Close Shave. It's a backpack and was purchased on eBay in March 2002. Baggage without a guilt-trip. Kewel.

Gourd Head

Not the scariest form of pumpkin face, but it is sheepish. I carved this for Halloween in 2002. It was before the white pumpkins became color du jour and therefore- pricey. Boooo!! I mean Baaaa, but in a scary voice.

Come Along, Ewe

Hallmark was kind enough to sell me the very best, Merino Woolmore and Chauncey...The Speedsters. It's from The Boyds Collection and was purchased Sept. 2, 2000. The escargot, he has, how you say, a cargo. Happy Trails.

Comes With Strings Attached

Karol, a friend of 35 years, gifted this to me. (35??whew!) But I think the von Trapp family will drop by later to claim their puppet.

Too Ram Cute!

This little cutie came in an email today. It was one of several Halloween baby pics. A Sweet Lamb, most likely 'pampered'.

Having A Wooly Good Time

One of the first eBay purchases from March 2002, when I found I was getting my new house. Of course, it needed to be furnished with all things sheep. Always sheep time here.

Mugging For The Camera

Wow. A hand-thrown mug with a sheep on it. A find on eBay from two years ago that made this potter, who collects sheep, ecstatic. I think he's adorable and functional, too. Handled with caa-are.

This Bud's For You

Spring girl. Literally, as she has one that lets her body bounce about like a bobblehead. I bought her in a hospital gift shop last year. See the lovely flower on her head? Well, hummingbirds see it through the window, too. I've watched them try to sip from her head many times. Is that a flower on your head, or are you just happy to see me?

Very Animated

These were toys in the Subway children's meal. I went to their site when I heard about the give-a-way, and what should arrive in the mail- the whole set. Kudos, Subway. Kewel.
The toys are based on the hawk-dove cartoon, Sheep In The Big City. A weapon that runs on sheep power and the sheep not willing to be the fuel. It's no longer being made, but the few episodes were worth the watch. Run, Sheep, Run. Baaa!

Subscribe to It's Wooly Me

I do better with this blog, as all the pics are waiting in a folder. I just have to pick a pic. A few words and hit Publish. And then, Sheep's On! But should you wish to subscribe to this blog, please do so and an email will be sent to you when a new entry is logged.

Will That Be Paper? Or Plastic?

Cheap sheep! They were in a pack of paper plates- about $1.79. They look a little like the apes, actually chimps, from the original Planet of the Apes movies, though. OK. Just so's they don't take over the house and start talkin'.

Let's Get Plattered

I stood in line for 3 hours the day I bought this blue-eyed girl, all decked-out in her fine chapeau. I attended a talk and a Wedgwood signing by the Duchess of York on Sept. 27, 2000. As the line wandered through Dillard's various departments, there she was being used as a prop in the bedding area.(the sheep, not Fergie) Got a signed platter and a sheep that day. Are you being served, Lady Grey?

Witness Protection Program

OK. So this really isn't a sheep. Just a bear with a majorly, wooly identity crisis. This cutie also resides on the shelf over my desk at work and he was given to me by a dear friend, Dorothy. I feel fluffy. Oh, so fluffy.

Contented Tummy

This little stuffed guy holds a picture of one of my most favorite guys, my Daddy. The lambie sits on the shelf above my desk and was given to me by a co-worker. Olive-ewe, Daddy.

Good Cuppa

A Christmas present from Lisa. It holds a heapin', helpin' of steamin' caffeine-laced joe. Ewe's a good joe.

Flower Child

Yet another eBay purchase. I actually saw it once in a Pier 1 store. That's when I knew it an import, and not someone's artwork after having had bad seafood. Psychedelic Baby!

I'm Stuck On Ewe

If it's sheep you want, then flock on over to eBay. Sweet Wooly Moma! I had no idea there were others like me out there. But on eBay, they live.(and multiply, too) Sheep sticker- 99¢. Shipping- $1.00. Silly grin that repeats every time I pass it- priceless. Warning: Sometimes fun just gets stuck on.

Wow. That's Gonna Leave a Mark

Yep, I know. A smaller version is already on the blog. It's the story behind this pic, that is the real sheep-a-day post. This little lamb gallops through the yard at the Petting Farm where I work. I enlarged an original drawing and projected it on plywood. It's actually from my 2"x3" artwork, done as a layout for a tattoo that I got in April 2000. The colors are the same, but a gold earring and ivy leaves are also inked on, just above my left ankle. You might say this sheep is definitely a permanent part of my collection. Born to be wii-i-ld.

You've Got Lambs

Worth the $1.99 from Cingular.com back in June. I found out the expensive way that you can't transfer games, images and ringtones from phone to phone. I bought the phone on-line and the freestanding Cingular stores charge a $25 SIM card transfer fee. A fair enough price if all the data went with it. NO, the phonebook is all that would transfer. I kept the fee and spent a wee bit of time entering, by hand, about 500 entries. Whoa Moma! But I got to use that $25 on things like the above screensaver. LittleLambsOnPhonie.

Sheep Fan

I decided to subscribe to one of Cathryn's, my great-niece, life mottos, "If it doesn't move, place a sticker on it". And since it wasn't oscillating at the time, why not? This one came from a Sticker-A-Day desk calendar. Easy, breezy, colorful ewe.

Uh-huh, All Shook Up

This is Ramcrumb's shelf buddy. It is a clay rattle that I made in my first Pottery class in 1996. It went through a special firing technique called "Raku" and has a nice melodious sound to it. I give it a shake to remind me of Whose promise dwells within me and Who's my Abba. A rattle a day keeps the lies away.

Animal Cracker On My Shelf

Yes, that's a real Animal Cracker. And it's really not edible anymore, either. "Ramcrumb" has been without his buds for about 10 months. Somebody bit their little heads off. How baa-ad of me, but how good of them to be so yummy.

Book 'Em Danno

eBay purchase a couple years back. Wow, multi-tasking sheep. Kewel!

Tickled Pink

This little girl is served up in a Italian Cappuccino cup. And I'm afraid the where, when, who has been deleted from memory files. Pinkie and the No-Brain...

Mega-Serving of Daily Sheep

"Lambo"(the real tag name) was purchased at M.J.Designs in 1995, with a bonus check that I worked my butt off earning, from USA Today. I'll be baa-ack! Whoops. Sorry- wrong hunky-guy. Yo- aaa-adrian.

Black, White and Red All-Over

This is a scarf my niece, Lisa gave me for Christmas. What year? Ummm, pick a number between 2002 and 2005. It's wrapped around tomorrow's pic subject. Ready for wooly, breezy weather?
